Step 2 Protect & Polish A Floor
Floorcare is one of those things that we just dont easily understand. Even the proffesionals are not always up to the job. Quite simply the rules are that if the floor you want to treat is waterproof then you can use a range of water based polishes & cleaners to create a long lasting & good look. Modern Floor Polishes do not like strong chemicals, household cleaners or alcohol. They all damage the look of a polished floor. Always use the right products to get the right results. When polishing floors the best results are achieved with a floor polishing machine. That is often why its a job best left to the proffesionals who already have all the kit needed. Places like schools, colleges, leisure centres, retail centres & the like have both the people, the equipment & of course the floors to polish daily.
Always vacuum clean a clean floor before applying new polishes. Its a little like painitng a large surface with gloss paint. You would always paint on a clean & dry surface first.
The old wooden floors which are not waterproof, can be polished with traditional wax polish & a buffing machine. A budget for a new one of these will be around £700. They last for years & are not easily bought second hand. At Seldram Supplies we have trained people who can help get you pointed in the right direction.
